Guest guest
Good morning group! I am looking for information on average missed visits in acute care. Do you have a threshold of " acceptability " after which you pursue additional staff hired? Thanks! Guest guest
Hi It depends on why you have the missed visits. We track missed visits under 8 different categories. Here are our categories and our percentages for last year. I use two criteria for justifying additional staff. Missed treatments due to lack of time and missed treatmens due to discharge prior to assessment. I use refusals as a comparison between staff to see if their are quality of care issues. I look at unanticipated discharges to see if staff are padding their schedules to keep their days easier. 15% missed treatments due to lack of time equates to a full FTE of missed treatments, thus my recommendation for additional staff. To qualify we have to meet all productivity standards (80% of time in direct patient care and 65% of time in chargeable patient care) and have a three month history of exceeding the 15% threshhold.
