The following is an email from the American Lung Assoc. for those interested in having their home checked out for allergents: Joy (aka joynoel) Hello Joy I’m so sorry about your lung problems. I wish that I could help you more, but I’ll tell you about the service that we do offer. We don’t do actual air testing, but we do offer an indoor air quality assessment visit. A volunteer comes to your home and helps you assess and manage different pollutants that could be triggers or could have health effects—things like dust, mold, pesticides, solvents, etc. This “HEAL” visit is free. If you want a scientific air test, there are a few businesses that I can refer you to, but unfortunately they do charge a fee. Air Quality Testing (asbestos, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, mold, ozone, radon, etc.) Note: Radon and other testing kits may be available at your local hardware store. Analytical Chemistry Inc.
