Welcome back Robin. Glad you had such a great time (except for the

jellyfish, BTW, I'm only allergic to strawberry jellyfish, the grape

ones don't bother me at all!) :o)

I'd like to take a cruise sometime, but need to convince my wife. She's

not to crazy about the idea. I think she has watched " Poseidon

Adventure " and " Titanic " too many times!

Robin,

You evidently took the same cruise as I did last February. I took the

Celebration which is one of the Carnival Cruise ships and left from

Galveston. We had the most wonderful waiter. His name was Nick. I even

had my picture made with him. I would never turn down another chance to

take a cruise. That's the greatest way to travel. I'm so glad you had the

opportunity to go and I'm so happy you had such a great time. Too bad about

the snorkeling problems.

Hugs,

Tootie

Cruise Report

" The cruise was wonderful!! We had great food, and once I told the waiter I

was diabetic, he took great care of me, even bringing me something else to

eat once when he knew I had ordered something that wouldn't be enough, and

several times telling me that what I was ordering came with rice and

offering me extra veggies instead.

Also, I got lots of exercise going up and down the stairs (the elevators

were extremely slow) and walking on the decks.

The only downside was that I'm quite allergic to jellyfish stings (which I

got while snorkeling in Cozumel). I didn't break out until 24 hours after

exposure. It did mean that I got to educate my PCP on jellyfish stings,

though. So, now I'm on a five day course of steroids to clear up the stupid

rash (looks like I rolled in a poison ivy patch, and itches about the

same). "

---Same here, Rick. We had thought about a cruise and it ended with

the thought. Being surrounded with water just wasn't appealing. I

would like to go but it would need to be on land or very close to

shore and that is not gonna happen! Haven't seen a cruise ship

sailing along a highway yet! A friend went on a cruise to Nova

Scotia and said it was just wonderful. Had a great time. The food

was excellent. The people were friendly, staff as well as other

vacationers and the people they met in Canada when they went on

shore. I went so far as to get the brochure.

Speaking of scuba diving, there is a hotel under water somewhere in

Fl. I remember reading about it and one has to scuba dive to get

there!
