Guest guest
The adrenal tabs from Nutri-Meds is whole desiccated adrenal glandular, the real deal, just as natural thyroid is whole desiccated thyroid glandular. The pregnalone is one portion of what is put out by the gland, not the whole gland. I don't know if I said that right.... I chose it because I felt that for as wonderfully as the natural thyroid works for us, the whole gland, did it not make sense that using the whole adrenal would be as beneficial? I feel that giving the body the entire spectrum allows it to utilize what it needs in the manner that it requires. Normally the hormones produced by the adrenals are mixed and matched and combined to perform those functions that our bodies require... So I choose to give it the base materials that it needs to do it's job... I guess thats the baker/cook in me... give me the ingredients and I'll make the stuff that I WANT..... Guest guest
I agree topper. When I first heard about the Delta Cortil, I was excited, then I got a bottle and noticed the fine print.... pregnalone. So I opted to stay with Isocort. I may do differently later, but since I am fortunate to have a top doc, I am waiting on his opinion. Blessings, Debbie K. -----Original Message-----From: topper2@... Guest guest
I believe the vitaminmd site stated that it is from New Zealand Sheep. The bottle says it's "Freeze Dried Adrenal Cortex". The adrenal has two parts, the inner medulla and the outer cortex. The Medulla only produces epinephrine (adrenalin) and norepinephrine (noradrenalin) which help you adjust to stress. The cortex handles the rest of adrenal production which is quite a bit. The world book encyclopedia says the following about the cortex: "The adrenal cortex secretes a number of hormones which are essential to life. ....three main groups: (1) glucorticoids, (2) mineaalocorticoids, and (3) sex hormones. [These] ...regulate the use of digested foods...help the body adpat to stress...regulate the excretion of sodium and potassium by the kidneyslllcontorls the production of aldosterone.... The adrenal glands produce only small amounts of sex hormones, chiefly ...androgens [which] help regulate the development of ...early sexual characteristics... during the period just prior to puberty." So the cortex is the main part. Blessings, Debbie K. -----Original Message-----From: topper2@...
