Guest guest
In reviewing my saved e-mails I ran across a post questioning whether or not it is strictly the 2 hour reading (rather than the intermediate readings) in a standard two hour oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) that is used for diagnosis. For everyone's information, a blood sugar level of 200 or more AT ANY TIME within the two hours (not just at the two hour point) triggers a diagnosis of diabetes under current standards. Readings that peak under 200 but are 140 or more (but under 200) at the two hour point are considered " impaired glucose tolerance. " Reference: http://www.diabetes.org/main/type1/medical/lab/diagnosis.jsp So peaks anytime of 200 or more are a big deal.
