Preeti,

I empathize with you. I spent the holidays with my

wife and her family. They are all great people who

have accepted me unconditionally, but this was a

difficult Christmas.

My folks both passed away this year. My dad on March

13, and my mom on April 15. In addition, an aunt

passed away in Feb., and my brother and his family are

stationed in Japan. It was a very difficult Christmas

(and Thanksgiving), to say the least.

I am thankful for the people I still have: my wife

and her family, my daughter, and also the great people

here on the Crew who share their experiences and

feelings without reservation.

Preeti and ,

It must be so painful to see your Mom with Alzheimers and unable to recognize

you. Your email was so touching, genuine, and beautiful. My sympathy to you

, so much to go through losing both your parents, nearly at once. My

mother passed away a few years ago but she was very much on my mind at this

time of year. There are " things " in my place that always serve as reminders

of her.

Christmas can be so diificult!
