OK seems the crew has a massive hangover, so by popular demand

THE DEAD MANS BEACH STORY

Once upon a time, the Earth cooled and dinosaurs ruled the earth . A short 180 million years later Australia is inhabited by Aborigines for about 5,000 years. None of that is as significant as 230 years ago when Australia is discovered by White guys, namely Captain Cook( joke) He also discovered most of the Pacific Ocean , brilliant guy got off his butt from being a nobody to end up speared by natives. Great way to retire.

Hmmm On his way past the East coast of OZ he named a rocky outcrop POINT LOOKOUT on North Stradbroke island and this is where Dead Mans Beach is located. 'Lookout' must be about the last thing many sailors have cried before they have been shipwrecked in this area. Reefs and huge seas have taken hundreds of lives in the past 200 years.

SO !!! They actually did find a skeleton in the sand in 1956, and he was still wearing boots. I have seen a picture of this and I have a pic of me standing in the same spot today.

They think he was buried there around 1900. Not such a big deal story but amazing they kept a name like Dead Mans Beach, it must be the ultimate in real estate devaluation.

Any Questions ???

Marcus

Glad you asked buddy.I have a few questions. Is it an Australian tradition to burry men naked, wearing only boots?or do you think he walked around " dressed " like that.Could that be what got him killed?
