Guest guest
The " good " and " fair " numbers look too high to me. If I have consistent bg levels over 150 I adjust my diet. That morning reading of 60 also looks too low. Guest guest
Good grief, I took the time to line all this up, and once sent it just did it's own thing. Let's see if I can clarify. Before breakfast: non diabetic 60 - 110 excellent 70-120 good 70-140 fair 140-180 poor over 180 1 - 2 hours after meal non diabetic 100-140 excellent 100-140 good 100-160 fair 160-200 poor over 200 before meals, bedtime non diabetic 70-110 excellent 70-120 good 80-140 fair 140-180 poor over 200 Re: Target blood sugar ranges I just took a class at Kaiser called " Living well with Diabetes " and this is what they gave us: Goal Blood Sugar Levels time non-diabetic excellent good fair poor before breakfast 60-110 70-120 70-140 140-180 over 180 1-2 hrs. after meal 100-140 100-140 100-160 160-200 over 200 before 70-100 70-120 80-140 140-180 over 200 meals, bedtime Does this sound at all acceptable? Guest guest
Absolutely, Sandi, if you stick with the non-diabetic and excellent numbers. The high end numbers for " good " are too high for my goals. Guest guest
I agree and and am striving for the " non-diabetic " numbers as much as possible. I seem to float around in the " excellent " for the most part except the fasting which is mostly an average of 125 or so, but it's been coming down. This morning it was 114 and yesterday was 97 which thrilled me no end. Bedtime is usually a bit higher than the 120 range too. Right now it's at 146 and that's not good. But...I had some sugar free/fat free pudding about 8:30 so that is probably the culprit. Doesn't seem like there is ever a full 2 hours between my putting something in my mouth. Guest guest
I read somewhere, bg level before breakfast should 70-110 (or 80-110). I think 60 is too low, even for non diabetics? Is that true we can say fair for 140-180 before breakfast? when I have one, it scared me to death. Judith > Good grief, I took the time to line all this up, and once sent it just did it's own thing. I expect It's a matter of opinion, Judith. I certainly wouldn't be happy with anything in the Fair numbers, but alot of docs see a lot of diabetics that aren't particularly compliant, and I guess they have to have some sort of scale. I agree with you. Barb
