I always thought that having

thyroid deficiency was so cool...a major problem cured with one simple

pill a

day. Little did I know that it was a precursor to diabetes

I've been taking Synthroid for 30+ years. Are you sure you're type 2?

Well, that's what the doctors say... I'm not sure of anything :-)

Are

you overweight?

I think so..... I need to lose about 25 lbs.

Insulin resistant?

Yup...

What pills are you taking and are they

working?

Amaryl, and nope, it isn't working.

How long since your diagnosis?

It will be 4 years this summer, but I go to the doctor every 3 mos. for

testing.

Vicki,

It doesn't surprise me, as years ago I took a course called " Disease

Processes of Man " , and I remember studying about the auto-immune diseases.

I seem to recall that once they start, one thing after another falls apart.

At least, it's been that way with me....

Must've been years ago...they wouldn't dare title a course that way now,

gotta be PC (politically correct)...smile.. and yes, you're correct, once you

have one autoimmune dise it puts you in line for a whole bunch of other weird

autoimmune stuff. Besides Sjogren's and hypothyroidism, I now have granuloma

annulare, which involves painless but ugly bumps on my knuckles, elbows,

knees, feet and other places I won't mention. I'm sure it's auto-immune

related although I went to an endo who said he'd never seen such an array.

Anyone else here have it?? .Vicki
