Guest guest
I always ate junk when my kids were babies, but the babies and little ones got very little fat and almost no sugar. I was so parnoid that they would end up very overweight like me when I was in the 20's and 30's. I never starved them, they could eat all they wanted, but only the good stuff. I never made food an issue. But, on Easter for example, they would get a little candy and lots of coloring books and toys! We had birthday cake and all the normal treats, just not on a daily basis. But, guess what the power of genetics won out. Daughter, 24 years old - 250 pounds Son, 18 years old - 275 pounds Daugher - 13 - 122 pounds and almost aneroxic - we have a deal with her, you can go to the gym only if you eat. So we are trying to nip this in the bud. So, it was pretty discouraging! One good thing came out of this. We hardly ever had any sugar in the house since I became diabetic about 10 years ago. We buy 5 pounds of sugar a year and still have some left over. My children who are not good teeth brushers, have never had a cavity!
