Guest guest
Congratulations on your new doc!!!! How wonderful that she's one to listen.... Just don't forget.. you're on a T4 only med so you have to be patient to see changes... it takes 4 to 6 weeks for your body to react a dosage change and for you to see changes. Carole has been floating around here some place... Carole, yoohoo, Carole!!! I only have three practises to choose from so to find this Doc to me is wonderful. Incidentally we had a Carole post from UK where is she and how is she getting on? Guest guest
Hello Patt, You are lucky with your doctor. The nurse who took my blood yesterday told me that in her experience no-one ever felt well again after starting on Thyroid replacement therapy! I am still not happy with the ME diagnosis... well frankly I don't believe it. I think that it is a useful label for improperly treated hypothyroidism (as well as other conditions). Like many others I can now trace my symtoms back over many years, isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? I live in a rural part of the country and would have to travel miles to find another GP. I have looked on the Thyroid UK website, there are a number of sympathetic doctors in private practice who are willing to supply natural thyroid. This is a bit of a dilemma for me as I am vegetarian. Am I being silly? Are there any other veggies out there on thyroxine or Armour? --- lemoutonuk wrote: > Hi I'm Patt from the Isle of Wight I had RAI back in > 1984.....I too > had great difficulty...the last male Dr told me not > to worry and have > a massage....not exactly what u want to > hear..Yesterday I saw a Lady > Doc...(my Doc is long term sick)I was going to post > this > anyway ....she has decided to go with my symptoms > and NOT my blood > tests...which were below 1 for TSH and 6.9 for T4 I > think I was soooo > surprised to be told to alter my thyroxine at will > and go with my > feelings the rest faded into > insignificance...Perhaps the > Receptionist can tell you which is a nice > sympathetic " go with you " > Doc in the practise.
