Good luck Mikey, be sure and let me know the outcome! I have one question -

IF there was any problem--would you go to North Carolina??

a high of low 30's on Tuesday near Houston!) I agree - BRRRRRR!!!

Godspeed, Mikey, and ditto on the BRRRRRR.

West Texas, where the last time it snowed, it threw

the election into chaos (Nov. 7), as Hell froze over.

High tomorrow is supposed to be 25, with wind chill of

-3. I think that minus sign means below 0, but us

West Texans didn't know that was possible.

I don't know. Did you know that Dr. Chen's office is now doing ABI's? He

himself told me.

Well of course my question would have to be how many have they done? Wonder

if you could get Fukishima to come back to AGH IF you needed it? I bet

Fukishima has done more than Chen? I do like Chen tho, I think he calls a

spade a spade. He was the one who told me to quit messing around, bite the

bullet and get that tumor out of there! marie

OK guys and gals, here is my MRI report. Have not heard back from Dr. Chen yet.

Mike

History: Type ii Neurofibromatosis. Bilateral internal auditory canal

acoustic neuromas with previous surgery. History of neuromas of righ

hypoglossal nerve. History of biternporal craniotomies. Previous surgery

was in 1995 and 1996.

Previous study of 3/1/99 is not available for comparison.

There is some deformity and increased signal over the cilvus, nonspecific.

There is also bony deformity of the internal auditory canals consistent

with previous surgery, with mild enhancement. This was noted on the

previous study of 1999, and recurrent neurofibromas cannot be excluded on

the basis of this study. Also, there is curvilinear increased signal in the

region of the right hypoglossal canal measuring approximately 10 x 14 x 14

mm, consistent with patients history of neurofibroma. This apparently

measured 8 x 13 mm in length on the precious study.

There is question of some enhancement in the region of the jugular foramen

bilaterally.

The ventricles are in the midline. No definite midline shift or mass

effect. The diffusion images appear unremarkable.

Impression:

1.) Post-surgical changes with bony deformity of the internal auditory

canals bilaterally.

2.) Mild enhancement of the internal auditory canals bilaterally,

suggestive of recurrent neurofibromas.

3.) Approximate 10 X 14 X 14 mm enhancing density, right hypoglossal

canal consistent with a neuroma

Just heard from Dr. Chen, the only real change was the hypoglossal nerve,

and that we are just going to keep an eye on.
