I will try that avenue as well regardless of my tubal ligation 10 years ago. I'm only 43...Dr. CHO says, " Just take it out it servers no function and you could get cancer! Great email name lol I've seen a few studies/reports that indicate fibroids can indeed impact fertility. They can block the entrance to the fallopian tubes, meaning either sperm can't get in or the ovum can't get out. A submucosal fibroid can distort the endometrium so much that the embryo can't successfully implant. Is your fibroid submucosal? If so, 3cm is not small. Mine is 3.5cm and the ultrasound report described it as " large " . Also, I read somewhere the average (before any pregnancies) uterus is only 4cm from front to back anyway, to give perspective how big 3cm is in relation. I wonder how accurate doctors are when they tell you something is normal for you, when it's never happened before and it's a significant change. Something had to cause the change. I understand the feeling of being scared! What helped me deal with it the most was doing as much research as I could, and reading through posts on this and the embo group. The more I understand about the why's of what was happening to me and what to do about it, the less I felt afraid. So, it's great you're having another ultrasound done next week, so you can find out more about where your fibroid is. Any chance you can get a hysterosalpinogram? It's a test to help determine reasons for not getting pregnant. Instead of ultrasound, X- ray is used. A dye is injected into your uterus, which can give a better idea of what's going on in the uterine cavity. The key part of the test though, is the dye also flows into your fallopian tubes and can indicate if anything is blocked. Sometimes the dye clears obstructions, but somtimes the fallopian tube can spasm and prevent the dye from getting through. Regarding questions to ask your doc, I think there have been previous posts with lists of questions. Have you tried searching the archives yet?
