Guest guest
Kathleen, I have sauerkraut about once a week. Growing up we had it quite often as mom grew a very large garden and we made several jars of kraut. I love it with hot dogs cut up in it but can eat it plain also. I don't know if their is much difference in brands but I was always told to rinse it if it is in a can. Then add my own water. Guest guest
, my dad used to make sauerkraut. It was so good. The only part I didn't like was that he put the butter churns he fermented it in in the bedroom and even though they had a very large house you could smell it in every room. Guest guest
Have you'll tried the sauerkraut that comes in the plastic bags?? It taste better than the canned does I think. I have made my own, but it sure does smell up the house....I won't do that again unless I have some place beside the house to make it. Helon With GODS HELP I will be a Conqueror this year!!!!God will grant me courage that will not run out!!! Re: sauerkraut I will try that . I know I don't like caraway seeds. Yuck! Patooey! I can't remember ever having homemade sauerkraut. It sounds good though. I like crunchy stuff. Anything homemade nearly always beats canned. I've had sauerkraut in restaurants and it tastes canned.Kathleen> Kathleen,> I have sauerkraut about once a week. I just got home from HEB and looked for it in the bags but couldn't find it. Where might they be hiding it at??
