I know it is never an " All " , but, I think for most there is denial of

some kind. I know for me, I can look in a mirror and I don't see myself

as thin, but, rather " medium " , then I'm so shocked at what I look like at

a picture or if I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror when I'm out. Full

length of course. How many overweight people enjoy having their picture

taken and looking at it???

**************************

I have heard and read hundreds of reasons why people are overweight

but none so far have claimed that it was because they used food as a

comfort zone.

***************************

I disagree with this , again, never an " all " situation, but, I think

that most overweight people do not eat because their hungry.

I think a lot (myself included) eat for emotional reasons. Just as the

choice of what those foods are when it's emotional. Me, I like crunchy

food full of fat when I am really stressed. I also think that more women

than men have the emotional eating thing, but, I do think men suffer from

it too. The food you eat brings you " comfort " . It dulls your senses makes

you sedate. You stuff the food and along with that stuff the emotion you

are feeling so it doesn't grow and you don't have to deal with it. I have

searched for years to figure out what

I get from food that I don't get from anything else in my life. I've never

figured it out, but, I find that when I make it less a priority in my life I

lose weight. What's that saying something about just letting go......
