Hi Bubbles,

Great question!

Yes, the Calcium and iron, in the Centrum, can bind with the Levoxyl. It would be better if you took the thyroid (Levoxyl) first, then wait about an hour and then have the vitamin with food. Vitamins work FAR better with food, and the thyroid has to be taken on an empty stomach.

Many of us find that if you pop the thyroid in the second you wake up.. then go on about getting up, showering, dressing, etc.. that it makes that hour go a lot faster. We have one gal that sets two alarms in the morning. The first to pop in her pill, then she sleeps another hour and a half and then gets up to start her day.

If you were taking a natural glandular (like Armour) you could take it sublingually (under your tongue) and then meals, vitamins and such are no longer an issue.

See what routine would work best for you.

You want nothing to compete in the stomach for the uptake of the thyroid. If it has Calcium or Iron in it, then no, I wouldn't take it. Thyroid takes a high acid environment to absorb in the gut, and anything either alkaline that competes for the acid or "overtakes" the thyroid hormone is in question. Substances at the cellular receptors competing for uptake into the cells is a different matter. In that instance we're talking about soy, estrogen, and many other things, although the same thing would happen in the stomach with those particular substances.
