Isn't it just frustrating that those around us won't listen.... I'm getting grunts and (not so nice words) comments when I say that I won't eat something unless I can see the ingredients and if it's on my "no" list I won't eat it either.....

They want to know who I think I am that I know that this stuff is bad and NO ONE ELSE does!

I won't even tell you about the argument we had here about soy!

Oh well....

My daughter is heading t'wd her mid thirties with very thin hair on top, that started back in her med twenties, when she was secretly not taking anythyroid med, telling me that she was. At that time, she didn't realize theimportance of taking it the rest of your life, had not been taking it foralmost two yrs, and I didn't know it. She became a believe when she formeda huge goiter in one week, that wrapped around her trachea and almost chokedher to death. She's been on Synthroid ever since, and now she doesn'tbelieve me when I tell her that she would do better on Armour, and that herhair would probably grow back! It is so thin that she can't wear a part inher hair, and I also suspect that she has adrenal fatigue, but she won'tbelieve that either. Thank God I had a ton of hair because when I did startlosing it down the drain, it looked like handfuls, yet I still had plentyleft. You can immagine how thick it used to be because now it looks like anormal thickness. It stops shedding, then starts again, when I do a changein my Armour, going upward.

There are things that I KNOW make me ill and I won't touch them, if it pisses folks off.. that's okay.. I just won't come back. I'm not adverse to trying something new, if I think it's 'safe' for me as far as how it affects my body.... now my list is longer because of soy and other goitrogens and the high fructose corn syrup... but, well, I say, again, if folks don't like it that's fine.. I'm quite happy in my own company.

I grew up in a household where the rule was that you had to taste a spoonful before you had the right to say it tastes bad and don't want to eat it... I still try to stick to that.... except for the 'bad foods' list that I have of my own.

If it's got, say, green peppers in it... I won't even bother tasting it. They get me sooooo bad that I once had a sandwich at Subway, took one bite of it and went back to the counter... after, shall we say 'a bit of discussion' it was found that the guy that made my sandwich had just made one with a bunch of green peppers for someone else. With those same gloves he picked up the turkey slices that went on my sandwich... that was all it took.

Our bodies, taste buds, etc are soo..... funny? Sometimes...

Shame on her for not testing her girls! I can't say much about the other.. I'm on a generic and I'm self medicating without testing. My thyroid was also killed off by RAI, so I'm simply dealing with finding the right replacement dose, I don't have to deal with fluctuating antibody levels or thyroid hormone output by the working part of the gland, my hyper state was a result of a genetic flaw in the TSH receptors.

hehehehehe

What's funny is that I am what you would call a finicky eater. Well this woman at work said that if I have hemo maybe it's because I only stick to the foods I like and maybe I should try more things. Uhm no. (This from a woman that had graves, had the RAI and now is happy taking generics without getting her blood test results. Well if Kaiser gives out generics they must be ok. What about your 2 daughters because it is genetic. Oh I won't get them tested until they have symptoms.) Phooey!!!Louise
