Guest guest
Thank you for your response, and I am so glad you are OK after all you have gone through. I am hoping that losing the remainder of my weight will help my bs numbers...actually right now they aren't so bad. The doctor refuses to " diagnose " me as diabetic, but my fasting numbers tell me the truth so I am really watching carbs, exercising and losing weight. I have about 40 pounds to go and have dropped 30. I figure if I ever have to do meds, it will be glucophage XL because that seems to be the drug that works well for most here from what I've read. Sandi REply to SAndi At first the drugs were great and I mean cholesterol and diabetes medications. Then after about 7 years they started taking a toll on me. The lipitor almost put me in a wheel chair. If it were not for the Internet I would be crippled now.

" Phyllis, Please tell me how and why you think it was the Lipitor that almost put you in a wheel chair. I've been on Lipitor for almost 3 years and I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. I would appreciate it if you could give me an answer about this tonight so I can question him about it tomorrow. Thank you, Tootie

The last 40 I need to lose, I am > hoping that will get me off all meds. ***I'd like to remind everyone also, that weight loss dramatically improves insulin resistance, and lots of folks have found that once they eat to control their bs, the weight starts coming off. So the whole control can be an upward spiral toward great rewards. Hang in there everybody. I really liked your post, Phyllis. It's amazing what we learn (unfortunately, sometimes the hard way), eh?
