We incorporate VitalStim into our swallowing treatment sessions and bill for traditional swallowing (dysphagia) therapy only (CPT 92526). vitalstim charging Does anyone have any info/experience on the appropriate charges for speech therapists to use for typical vitalstim treatments. Is anyone experiencing denials on specific charges. I am getting mixed feedback on the use of e-stim as a charge and understand ther-ex is not a cpt available to ST. Any documentation or info you have on billing this procedure would be much appreciated. I was surprised at the high cost of these, especially considering they are single use electrodes. Thanks!
