Guest guest
I am responding to several women who, like me, at age 51 and counting, have been waiting in vain for menopause and the fibroid to shrink. Unfortunately, this has not happened. In the last month, distinct changes have occured that lead me to believe that I can't wait any longer. I menustrate every 28 days like clockwork, and this " thing " is obstructing my bladder. What I've learned from this site and others is that there are many women in this age group where the wait is too long and the decision to " hold off " is no longer an option. I only wish I had not made the mistake to wait 3 years later in vain hoping and praying for menopause! Who knows what kind of damage I may have already done to my kidneys, bladder, etc, now that this fibroid is of massive proportions. I say that so that women who are now 47, 48 can learn that waiting for memopause may be a 5 - 6 yr wait, with no guarantee of memopause or shrinkage in sight. I have decided to go ahead with a hysterectomy and put this to rest.
