Guest guest Posted December 28, 2001 Report Share Posted December 28, 2001 Wow. My husband and I just tried the Low Carb Hot Cereal sent in by Harvey on on Dec. 21. I was extremely impressed, and husband Monte was fairly impressed (he's particular--ha! Has not gotten over the loss of oatmeal) The recipe was as follows: 3 parts flax seed meal 3 parts Macadamia nut meal 1 part Guar gum 1 part Xanthan gum I ground up my own Macadamia nut meal--put macadamia nuts in the food processor. It ended up being nearly 1 cup of meal. So I added 1 cup flax seed meal, then 1/3 cup each Guar and Xanthan Gum. Stirred well. Then put 4 tablespoons (heaping) into 2 cups water, and microwaved 2 minutes. We then added Splenda, and Davinci Raspberry Sugar-free syrup. I was quite impressed. I put the leftover mix above into a baggy, and into the refrig. for the next time. I purchased the Gums and the flax seed meal via Carbsmart. (Flax Seed Meal is also at our local health food store).
