Guest guest
My oldest hadn't lived with me since he was 15 and I was so busy with the girls then it didn't hit me too hard. He had his father's temper and he went to live with some friends of mine from our church who were better able to handle his temper than I was. I have a feeling it will hit me big time when the girls leave. We are busy 7 out of 12 months of the year every weekend for swim meets or wrestling meets, etc....I think it would be fun for a while, extra camping trips, etc....but after a while I know it's going to kill me inside not to have all those events to look forward to...and I don't wanna wait for grandchildren to do it! I wanna do it from now till I'm 100! --- loveitingh wrote: > , > You might be on to something. This empty nest > stinks. I looked > forward to it for so long and now that I have it I > hate it. Guest guest
Oh I know what you mean. There are tons of parents at 's pee-wee baseball (cuz the little ones are so cute when they run the wrong way around the bases?) but hardly any at Betsy's " big stars " baseball. And the ones who are there act like losing would be worse than death. What kind of example is that to set? The big boys baseball packs the bleachers, I'm not sure why the girls don't. Wrestling is pretty family oriented. There was one high school girl, also named , Katrina actually, whose parents never came to a meet (even on Sunday meets!). We videotaped her matches, hoping that when her parents watched the tape, they'd take more of an interest. No go. So sad...so we've adopted her...we call her our " other " . lol. My just told me now she wants to take piano lessons, so I've got to make some calls on that today. She also wants to play football. Now I've allowed the wrestling, but am a little more hesitant on football. We'll see. The wrestling coaches daughter (Paige) who is 's hero, plays football. We'll see.... I've never missed any of the kids' stuff, even if I had migraines like I used to all the time, I'd just load up on drugs and go...I can't imagine any other way. 's ex used sports for a babysitter. She sent her kids all over but never attended one game. :-( Better get to work, TTYL! --- loveitingh wrote: > laura, > Your kids are so blessed that you are so involved > in their lives. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
My guess is that you'll sleep like a baby tonight. Church is good for that, helping you relax....just reaffirming that God's shoulders are huge and that He will take care of us. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Dorene, That is sooo sweet! I just have to tell you this story. When I was little we had a non-profit life ins co that we were members of...they had a meeting once a month and gave our prizes. The prize was a radio..I already had one...well I won, so I gave it away to the only other little girl there who was just visiting. Not too long after that I received a brand new Monopoly game (love it to this day) with the following poem written on it: There is a destiny that makes us brothers, None goes his way alone. All that we send into the lives of others, Comes back into our own. I still cry when I think of this. You sure are a sweetie and a blessing to us all. --- loveitingh wrote: > April, > What are your kids ages and what grades are they > going into? > I am so happy to be able to do something for you. > Most of my kids > school clothes came from yard sales. Guest guest
Dorene, Yes, I saw the post about the campground and there's an answer from me floating around here somewhere. You are truly blessed to have found your church home. goes to almost all the Vacation Bible Schools in town, so we go watch her do her little thing the last night and check the church out at the same time. Nothing has really jumped out and grabbed us yet, so we try to attend the church that is affiliated with 's school for now, I just have to pray before I go that I don't fall asleep. :-( You get some rest now, busy weekend for us all ! __________________________________________________
