My daughter had a sleep study. There's nothing to it. They attach a bunch of wires to your scalp and hook them to a machine. All you do is sleep and go home the next morning. It may be difficult falling asleep with all those wires attached, but even if you only sleep a little while, they can complete the study. Oh yea, the wires are attached to little pads that are glued to your scalp. Like when you get an ekg. They don't pierce the skin.

My dh had the endoscopy. They put you to sleep for that so you will know nothing. Your throat will be a little sore for a couple of days. Plan to take it easy for a few days as that anesthesia will slow you down for a while. When I had my lumpectomy last week, I thought I was going more hypo, but it was the after effects of the anesthesia.

Blessings,

Debbie K.

-----Original Message-----From: So my scope is scheduled for next Tuesday. I don't think that is a bad idea but I am not thrilled about the sleep study being done. Have any of you had a sleep study done? Or a scope for that matter? Thanks for your guys help.

... have they tested your antibody levels? Sorry if you've already answered that, I need a reminder! hehehehehe

I have heard that some folks swell, in, rather than out...

Shame on your doc for not forwarding your records.. I just can't fathom a valid excuse for that..... good thing your ENT was persistent in obtaining that scan....

I'm sorry I guess I don't know how to navigate the messages in this thread but apparently someone asked me about my sex drive or something in response to my message. I'm so so with that. Sometimes I'm in the mood but a lot of times I just not intrested.Anyway, I went to see the ENT today. He took me in a whole different direction. I'm getting so frustrated. Today the ENT didn't have the results because my doctor didn't send them. So the ENT finally got a hold of the thyroid scan(the one where they injected nuclear die into my arm). He said it showed that there were no cold nodules(thank God) but he said it didn't show any hot nodules either. He said as far as he can see it looks normal. He also felt my neck and said he didn't feel anything. My neck was tender but he didn't feel any enlargement. He did make a comment that the reason my doc was giving me the synthroid was because he was treating the patient and not the labs. That did make me feel better to hear that but... now the ENT said I should have a scope run down my throat to see why I am having problem swallowing and a tender neck. He also is ordering a sleep study be done on me. I know I am having problems sleeping but I think that is a symptom of whatever the problem is not the problem itself. I just don't understand why I am going in so many directions. So my scope is scheduled for next Tuesday. I don't think that is a bad idea but I am not thrilled about the sleep study being done. Thanks. I asked the nurse setting the appt if I needed to do

anything to prepare for the test and she said no. She said when I

get there they will spray something in my nose to help numb the area

and let me set for about 10 minutes before they do the scope down my

throat. I should have asked why the nose but I didn't so I am going

to call my dr back and find out what they are doing.

Anyway, thanks for explaining the tests for me.
