Guest guest
The current drawings have two double kitchens with tons of storage... can you make use of that or would you still need a separate one? Don't worry about cooking.. I LOVE cooking... and with two double kitchens I think there will be plenty of space for several cooks to work. We'll be set up for packaging and freezing mini-meal portions... that way those that are paying their way by cooking or baking can have their contributions stored for use when it's needed. I don't think we'll be wanting in the food department at all.... AND I have plans for a solar greenhouse, to supplement heating the facility and for producing organic vegies and fruits...again.. more chores for those that are paying with their help when they don't have the money to pay. And free produce to feed everyone. sigh.... It will be cool! Topper () On Sun, 8 Aug 2004 23:42:16 -0700 (PDT) Kathy Kitzcat writes: I put this one aside to answer later and forgot it.) Oops. Guest guest
Oh, no worries there, plenty of counter, cupboard and pantry space. So you could easily have an area in either kitchen (one will be on the upper level and one on the lower level). The upper level will be mostly for permanent staff. The lower level for patients, short term (day or two) and longer term, week or two). With 40 some feet of counter space with cabinets above and below in BOTH kitchens. There is also a larger storage room for storage of bulk items so that we can save by buying in bulk and then filling 'everyday' use containers from there. sigh.... The dining area faces the raised planting beds in the attached solar greenhouse.... It will be so fantastic to watch all the live growing things in the winter. The exercise area is on the second level, looking down over the planting beds and out through the glass onto whatever the landscape is outside... sigh... Two Computer rooms with 8 stations in each room with wireless networking to allow use of laptops throughout the building, reference library, conference rooms (for group meetings or how-to sessions). Garden room/work space for all the 'dirty' work involved with the greenhouse gardening and setting up seed flats for the indoor and outdoor raised beds. All planting beds will be raised. To allow wheelchair access and so folks using crutches or having difficulty bending or kneeling to still be able to work with the plants if they choose. Two exam rooms, two doc offices, on site lab and pharmacy (if we can do that legally, of course)Indoor pool for water exercise and lap swimming. Laundry facilities. Multi-media rooms - living room style, for watching TV or movies or listening to music. Four studio and four suite apartments for permanent staff. A motel-like building with additional sleeping space for patients with access to the main building for other amenities. Hallways and stair ways designed to allow walk/run exercising, lap style, throughout the building. Elevator between the two floors. And a pretty fair size area still open on the second floor... waiting for suggestions on what else should be included. sigh.... Plus all the stuff that I'd really love to see outside.... sigh... We just can't use soap/lotion utensils forcooking. Some of the oils are able to be used in bothsoaping and cooking, but some aren't, so they'd haveto be kept separate too. I'm sure there is also LOTSof counter space. )
