I don't think it has anything to do with diabetes, Janet...I'm 64 now and

started losing hair at an alarming rate after menopause. and it's still

happening. It's hormonal changes. Many of my women friends without diabetes

are having the same experience. (However, PCOS and hypothyroidism can cause

hair loss). Vicki

<< don't know if it is the weight

loss or the diabetes or something else, but my hair is getting thin on top.

I am 55 and don't want to have to wear a wig for the rest of my l ife.

hair loss is linked to high insulan levels in woman with pcos

ie:- high insulan levels = insulan resistance = possible hair loss

(thats how it worked with my daughter)

correct me if im wrong :-)

I was diagnosed with PCOs 4 years ago and I lost a great deal of hair

during that time and it has not grown back.

It can caused by diabetes also hormonal changes.

A specialist showed me his book which mention diabetes can caused

hairloss.

Maybe you need to visit a hair specialist to discuss this, and get

answer to all your questions :)

> Can anyone tell me if hair loss has ever been associated with

diabetes? It is exactly a year since I was diagnosed and through

diet and exercise I am controlling my bgs. I have lost 75 lbs now

and don't know if it is the weight loss or the diabetes or something

else, but my hair is getting thin on top. I am 55 and don't want to

have to wear a wig for the rest of my l ife.
