Guest guest
Hi , I am sure you have read that I have two oxymizers that came in the mail yesterday. well I can't use them. The nose prongs and the hose that goes behind the ear is quite a bit bigger than mine. Anyhow I was going to send them to you but don't find an address in the board. If you would like them just send your address to my e-mail. and I'll get them out to you. Love and Prayers, Peggy ipf 6/04 Florida " Worry looks around, Sorry looks back, Faith looks up. " Gwynne, I have had caregivers every since I was released from the Hospice In- patient unit. Even when I was with Hospice, I had caregivers. My husband jut did not want me to be alone since I fainted so much. We now have the hours weaned down to 4 hours a day during the week. I am with an agency. Tried private and had toomany call offs. With the agency I had trouble because I had a different one every day it seems, but now I have the same lady. Really nice. She has a routine and it workds. At first I felt really funny having her do things but now it is good. Somedays, there is not much for her to do, so we play cards or sometimes, we go to the Dairy Queen etc. (that was when I had an extra portable oxygen tank). She will run errands for me if needed, but mainly just stays with me. She does help get dinner ready for my husband and the very best thing....she IRONS. It has worked out good now. HOpe it is good for you too. L. NIPF 02/PH 06 caregivers , Thanks for the info you rounded up on UIP/IPF/ILD/NSIP. Sounds like many are still putting IPF and UIP together as synonyms. I agree with you that ILD is probably being used more as an umbrella term for all these things we suffer from. Janine, I'm glad you have had good luck with the shipping of your oxymizers. Are you still mulling over the idea of a recumbent bike? My supplier is bringing out some 1600 HFs cannulas tomorrow. It's a long story, but I had to pay out-of-pocket for my chair. I don't use it all that much yet (I don't want to depend TOO heavily on it until I have to), but I've gotten better at getting around in it, for sure! It's a Pride Jazzy - I really enjoy the ability to elevate the seat, and it's virtually silent. I go to the tx clinic next Monday x-O , so I figured I'd get a Rx for an oxymizer then if he okays it. I also want to discuss the option of transtracheal with him, just because we haven't talked about that since my 02 needs became elevated and my sats starting dropping at more alarming rates. I think I've found a team of three caregivers for myself. The three of them are a group (not an agency) of about 8 women who frequently work together in people's homes. Several also do some work for a local hospice. The references on all of them were so glowing and enthusiastic that I feel sure we'll get something set up very soon. I'm really feeling weird about it, since I don't need help with that much stuff yet and I hate to pay somebody to just sit around. But I know the number of things I could use help with are going to continue to increase, and some things I definitely already need. I'm trying to look at both this and the chair as means of conserving energy for the active things I still want to do, and we know I WILL need a team in place for post-transplant. So I obviously need to get over my concern that I won't keep the ladies busy enough - hey, they'll probably love having a rather cushy job for a while. Ms. Inverness, I'm awfully sorry you are battling lung disease, but I'm glad you found this site. You'll get a feel for who's who quicker than you might think. It really helped me to check out the photos and identify faces with names, & chat night gives me voices to remember as well. Welcome! Joy, I'm irritated - I can't open your " handcrafted.. " site for anything. bah. I'm sure it's wonderful and I do enjoy the baubles. Peggy, How's the rash doing? It isn't a bloomer rash is it? LOL I'm concerned about not hearing anything from Judy. Wally, you are quite an eloquent man. Your posts always strike a chord in me. I hope that everyone who's suffering from severe depression will begin to feel that veil lifting soon. One monster at a time is more than enough. Sometimes I guess we have to deal with things one hour at a time when a day seems too long. and , Richie, Vicky, Bonnie, Irene, Grey, , Jon, and everyone else - prayers are headed your way.
