Guest guest
I am praying for you and your Mum. Many, many hugs are coming your way, Sue Mum's operation is tomorrow My Mum has surgery tomorrow to remove her lump. She tells me that she has to have a needle inserted into the lump and then travel to another hospital to have it removed. I don't know what this is all about? Did anyone have a similar situation.Fingers crossed

Guest guest
I had that procedure before my lumpectomy (unfortunately I had to have a mastectomy the following week as the cancer had spread beyond the margins they took). They clamp the boob into the x-ray machine, like for a mammogram, and take a picture, then they insert a wire into the lump and take another picture to be sure they got the wire in the right place. Then they tape a Dixie cup over the area to protect it...looks like Madonna during her pointy bra period! I didn't have to change hospitals though! The breast is numbed beforehand, so there is no pain. The hard part is having to stay clamped into that damned machine for so long while they develop the film, insert the wire and then develop the second film. What is Mum's name? I'll be sending prayers and good thoughts her way. Hugs, benchy4@... wrote: My Mum has surgery tomorrow to remove her lump. Guest guest
by the way, the wire is for location purposes so the surgeon knows what he/she is supposed to remove.
