I feel like I'm crashing. How suddenly have the symptoms of

hypothyroid come on/progressed for the rest of you?

--Background: Diagnosed with Hashis three weeks ago, been

feeling " under the weather " for a couple months. Figured out I'm

hypo (thanks to you all) within the last week and a half. Waiting to

meet my new doctor on Monday who will hopefully give me some meds.--

I feel like I'm feeling so much worse and worse every day. My head

is cloudier, I'm having more trouble getting out of bed, I'm getting

winded easier. My appetite has totally disappeared within the past

couple weeks. And the idea of doing my job... oh god - too much to

deal with. Sometimes between the time that I click from one program

on my computer to another I forget what I was in the process of

doing.

Is it reasonable that I am feeling dramatically worse every day? Do

you think I'm just imagining/exaggerating things now that I know

what the symptoms are/could be? Maybe a combination of both. How

fast does hypothyroid move - symptom-wise?

Thanks for your help.

Marina,

Hashi's can sometimes make a pretty drastic swing, it all depends on what the antibodies are doing. Not getting regular meals can really reduce your energy levels and mess up your T4 to T3 conversion.. which can make you feel that much worse. You're also under a lot of stress right now... Waiting to see the doc and how that will all turn out...

Roll that all together and it's no surprise that you're not feeling so hot... Hang in there.. just a few more days to see the doc and, hopefully, get things going.

In the mean time... Have you been monitoring your basals... temp, pulse and respiration.. that can give you a pretty good picture about what your body is up to...

Swing by if you need to blow some steam.. that's what we're here for too.....
