Guest guest
Oh Wow, ! Thanks for sharing this link.....I have heard that Prozac et al have been found to be implicated in FMS/CFS, but this.......Good work! I have been on psychotropic drugs a lot in the past(including prozac!) Feisty/ThyroFeisty proud group co-owner The SSRIs and the Thyroid--Proof Ok, here it is, and I got it from someone posting it on another site. I've been trying to find this forever, or every now and then anyway. This is proof positive. Some of you belong to the site that posted it, so if it's a repeat, I apologize ahead of time. I thought it was important enough to go to as many groups as possible. http://www.fluoridealert.org/prozac.htm
Guest guest
One of the people on my CA site really liked that article and said it explained many things about her taking prozac. > >Reply-To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group >To: <The_Thyroid_Support_Group > >Subject: Re: The SSRIs and the Thyroid--Proof >Date: Wed, 4 Aug 2004 00:51:50 -0500 > >I posted it quickly because I was trying awhile back to tell someone this >who is taking one of them, and she didn't believe me, asking me to show >proof of that. Guest guest
Would you believe that I was first introduced to Prozac right back on the first day that I was ever given a thyroid med? The doctor at that time thought that I needed that " extra boost " , so that I wouldn't be feeling the xtra impact of low thyroid any more, at least until the thyroid took effect. Aaaaaaaa!!! My eyesight was VERY strange during the 3 wks or so that I took it. My brain felt like I could probably be awake and alert forEVER. I could see more sharply and in fine detail, and that was only a few days on it! In other words, I was very quickly getting more and more aggressive (in a bad way!), and it reminds me very much of mania. For those who have experienced this, you would know what I mean when I say that I was feeling " superior " and more daring, etc.....not just more confident and outgoing. Then, it was during the second and third week that I began to get tireder and tireder on the stuff. Now I know why. It was just accelerating the hypothyroid process I was already in, while my thyroid was trying to correct it all. Way later, when I now know that I was chronically worse and undertreated, all these other SSRIs just made me feel more sick and dead feeling.
