Dear Nataly,

I hope all is well with you since I haven't seen you post since your

original message. The ladies here are only concerned for your well

being. Perhaps I may have a little more in common with you. I have

searched the net, breast cancer message boards, and you name it with

no success on woman or men like us that choose not to have treatment

outside of surgery. Sorry to say there in nothing for us. I have read

the message boards, have posted, and it seems the feed back all

though is very passionate, is not very supportive for us when we

choose not to go with treatment. I don't mean to sound harsh, but

it's very true. My diagnoses was in May of this year. I took it a

step further than you Nataly. I chose not to even have the surgery. I

have educated myself as much as one can on breast cancer and cancer

in general. My mind, heart and gut lead me to my own decision to

leave things alone. My husband and kids are right behind me on my

decision. I feel whatever treatment one chooses is very personal and

I support everyone on their decisions. I'm not against surgery with

treatment at all, I applaud all that are going through this to fight

their battle, but I am a strong believer that it's a very personal

choice. I believe you came to this board just as I did to make a

friend, talk to someone, have a chuckle or two or maybe to just vent.

Please keep posting, reading and educate yourself on this disease.

Everyone here means well and is concerned and are willing to listen.

I hope to hear from you. All the very best of health from my house to

yours.

I did not save the links since I chose to have the mastectomy and did

not need the other choices but there are places online where you can

get information and support for using the alternative methods of

treatment. You are correct, we each have to follow our hearts and

make our own decisions. Sometimes we make the wrong decisions but

even then, it had to be our own choice. The week before my mother was

diagnosed with lung and liver cancer, she made the remark to me and my

husband that if she should ever have cancer, she would choose not to

have the treatments. A week later, she had pain and the doctor, after

tests, said she had both cancers. The oncologist did not give her

much hope because both were advanced but she insisted that she be

given chemotherapy. We can also make decisions and change our

minds...that's our perogative.

I can't even remember the name of the star, but there is a t.v. star

who chose not to have treatment and used alternative methods...the

last I heard (over a year ago) she was still surviving. Maybe someone

remembers who she is and if she is still surviving in 2004.

Hi Doris,

Thanks for your reply and input, it's very much appreciated. I am

taking an alternative approach for myself, with very happy results so

far. It may not be the answer but for now it feels good. I hope

nothing but the best for your Mom, it must be a very hard time for

you all. My thoughts are with you and your Mom.

It's Suzanne Somers. I just saw her on E the other day. And I agree

we all have to make our own choices.

--- Hi! Mustang. I saw a program on E entertainment about her. And I

also saw her on Larry King live not long ago. Here is a link that

tells about her and her treatment. For myself since there is not very

much info on this I wouldn't have chose it. But if it works for her

thats all thats important.

Thank you! I'm the oldest of seven kids, five girls two boys. They

couldn't the sister just younger tahn me couldn't say Yolanda and

called me Lala when she was little. From then on I have been Lala. My

grands call me Grandma Lala now. I have two kids a girl and boy and

seven grands I adore.

I read all about her treatment and it sounded very painful to me. I

could never give myself injections in the stomach. She did say she

may reconnsider Chemo down the road if this doesn't work. She wanted

to try this first. I know on Larry King she was talking about diet

also. She thought that was very important as well.

Hi Lala,

How cute is that...lol...you must get the yellow teletubbie doll that

says lala for your grand kids....so cute. I read the article on

Suzanne Somers...although it was comforting for her, I personally

would not go that route for myself. I'm quite pleased with the

regimen I am on. I feel absolutely fantastic and what was once a

2.5cm tumor and was really easy to feel, now is hard to find...it's

still there but not as prominate at all. I have to also look at this

realisticaly, it doesn't mean the cancer is gone, it's not a cure but

it sure feels good and I feel good. Time will tell with the outcome.

Thanks Again...have a super day !!!
