I'd say keep it up and maybe try some tylenol or ibuprofen. I'd definitely look into Evening Primrose Oil and Alpha Lipoic Acid, both of which can help tremendously. Guest guest
Thank you, Barb, for your response to my post. I have recently (just a few days ago) begun taking Alpha Lipoic Acid, 50 mg once a day. I also bought Evening Primrose Oil taking one 500 mg once a day. Is this enough to help? Most of the dosages I have seen are much higher, but I am reluctant to try a lot at first, not to mention they are very expensive. What dosages would you recommend for these two supplements? I'm not Barb, but from what I've read ALA should be minimum of 300mg, and up to 1200mg daily, and the slow-acting kind such as Jarrow (got mine at IHerb.com) EPO I take 3x daily, 1000mg each, and I feel that this regimen has helped me. -- Dave - 9:16:07 PM T2 - 8/98 Glucophage, U & H A 4th generation Diabetic - Davors Daily Aphorism: Experience is a good teacher but her fees are high... --

Now on about 400-500 a day...I take 100 mg with each meal and snack...it is the fast acting stuff but has cut my insulin resistance down so tremendously I no longer need a shot. It feels wonderful. I do believe alot of people are getting great results with the sustained release form in doses from 600-900. I have no side effects....which I frequently get with most meds of any sort. ressy

Guest guest
That's fantastic, Ressy! Congratulations! So I guess you're done working with Ron, huh? I still continue working with him...since I'm not insulin resistant (my daily insulin is less than 20 per day including background) I haven't started the ALA though Ron tells me there are other reasons to take it. But the cost is off-putting right now...just spent $1500 plus on car repairs. Happy Thanksiving to you and all.
