There are cat foods that cut down on fur balls. there are gloves you can get to groom the cats so there won't be so much fur around. Do you have like a spare room that the cats could be in? Also I heard if you bathe them (which is not easy) in club soda that will cut down on the dander. I live in Arizona and have 8 cats. I keep them all in side. I have to go over the furniture and carpets once a week to get all the hair. I am like you an animal lover, we've done animal rescue for the last 10 years. Both of 's parents know. They are pretty cool about the idea. I don't really think that your DH should ask you to get rid of your cats. I have 2 of them here also. They actually belong to the kids; so when starts with me to get rid of them, I tell him they aren't mine to get rid of. The dogs, on the other hand, are mine, but I wouldn't get rid of them either.
