Guest guest
Judy, Most people don't have bruising of this magnitude and my guess is that there is nothing much to be done about it now, but I would call and let your doctor know about it since it is much more widespread than when she last saw it. And you say it is tender...I would call her. B. Technicolor bruising at UAE puncture site Wow! You all should see this bruise on my groin! It looks much worse than it feels, but it is quite tender too. I just heard this morning that this is not universal. My IR saw it before she discharged me, when the bruise was about 4 inches in diameter. She said bruising is normal for UAE. Now the bruise extends from my naval to about six to eight inches down my right leg. It is every color of the rainbow, with streaks running parallel to my groin crease. I am wondering how much a bruise is normal, and should I worry about this one. Does is signify a problem with the femoral artery not healing properly? It is really a doozy, makes my husband nauseous just to look at it. No sex for 2 weeks??? No problem!!!! Yuck! Technicolor bruises, anyone?? Guest guest
Lots of medications make your blood thinner and increase the risk of bruising--aspirin being a common and well-known one. Elderly people, who often take lots of medication, often bruise very easily because of the meds they take, as well as having thin, delicte skin. And maybe anemia increases the rist of bruising, too.
