Guest guest
This is correct private practice PTs do need to be on site to supervise a PTA, and as of of January 1 they will only need to be in the office suite. , Ron Barbato P.T. Guest guest
Hi group In my understanding, the PT still has to be in the same building, but not in the room, able to see the PTA. In providing services in the home under Part B, this would still mean that the PT and PTA would need to see the patient together, which makes it very cost prohibitive. Let me know if I have misinterpreted. Thanks! Vicki Vicki Tilley PT,GCS President ElderFit Physical Therapy & Consulting, Inc. (919) 614-1923 (work) (fax) VSTilley@... Guest guest
We are a hospital owned PT clinic in Indiana. We don't have to be on-site, but we have to have some type of contact with the PTA everyday. It can be by phone. This is specific to our practice act. , MSPT Re: Supervision of LPTA Hi group In my understanding, the PT still has to be in the same building, but not in the room, able to see the PTA. Guest guest
This would be a major change in Georgia requirements. Does anyone know if this is the case for Private Practice PT clinics in Georgia and where I might find the documentation? Thanks for your help. Guest guest
I am a practicing PTA in Utah. I have contracted with multiple PT's in home care to cover any extra visits they can't handle. I average between 30-50 visits a week. They are required to see the pt every 6th visit, or every 14 days, whichever comes first, in addition to the initial eval. There is no requirement that the PT be in the building, but I am in contact with the supervising PT daily. > > > I would like outside input on the supervision of LPTA's employed by > Private Practices who perform " in home therapy " and the CMS final > ruling on " Personal Supervision of therapy assistants " , originally > published in the CMS Manual, ch 15, sec 240.
