Hi!

I have been following some of Dr. Larks advice for a while. I am a

pseudo-vegetarian (don't really eat meat and haven't for a few years but

will on special occasions) switched to soy, added whole grains and have

limited my dairy intake. I am still a diet coke addict but have switched to

caffeine free for most of the day. I have been exercising regularly for a

few years as well. I was only diagnosed with the fibroid last summer. It is

10 cm. Since I was diagnosed I have followed the diet a little more

strictly. I have noticed that I feel better. I do not know if my fibroid is

under control or not. We will have to wait and see till my next appointment

but. I have a lot less pain from the fibroid. I was frequently constipated,

had a bloated feeling, was uncomfortable and tired. The new stricter diet

has alleviated almost all of those symptoms. So, that's good. I still bleed

a lot but only for the first two days of my period and then it is back to a

normal period, which only lasts a few days more. I have heard some women

with fibroids have periods that last forever, mine are messy but manageable.

I do directly attribute the better digestion to the lack of meat in my diet

and the intake of soy milk.

Hello:

In my struggle to have a child I am again facing a third abdominal

myomectomy to remove 2 fibroids in my uterine wall.

I recently became pregnant thru IVF and had a miscarriage at 5 weeks.

My doctor is attributing it to chromosomal defects in the embryo(s)

or the fibroids. The fibroids of course grew with the hormones

(estrogen mainly) I took during the treatment.

I am at the point where I would be going for international adoption

but we have 3 frozen embryos which for moral reasons we will not

destroy.

Researching several sites on the web I found information that

mention, among other things, BMI (obesity) & lack of excercise as

factors that can contribute to fibroids. Also, athletic women tend to

have a lesser incidence of fibroids. I also found list of foods that

contain natural estrogens & foods that inhibit estrogen.

QUESTION: Have any of you had success reducing the size of your

fibroids by adopting a new diet, losing weight or excercising like

crazy?

My husband asked the fertlity doctor today if changing my diet could

make a difference & the doctor ADAMANTLY said no. He stated that if I

lost weight I would be healthier & that would help me in the

pregnancy but that it could not reduce the size of my fibroids.

Yesterday I ordered the books by Lark regarding the natural

treatment of fibroids....

QUESTION: Have any of you had success with Lark's

recommendations?

I would appreciate any responses to my questions.

vegetables and legume. Saw marked reduction in symptoms like clotting, PMS,

cramps, blood pooling in pelvic area left, menses changed from black to

brilliant red, but fibroids never shrank or went away, thus I am exploring

UAE as last resort. Sorry I can't report more positive news.

While I can't be certain that my fibroids have shrunk, I know that they have

at least stayed the same size and not grown at all since I began regularly

exercising a year ago. I have virtually no PMS now either which is an added

benefit. I am a believer that you either have fibroids or you don't and not

a whole lot that you do yourself is going to change that. I think it's a

genetic thing; however I think that living a healty lifestyle can slow

further growth and has numerous perks as well. As far as diet goes I think

you can make yourself crazy figuring out what might contribute to fibroid

growth and estrogen related chemicals. Not a fun way to live.

Do you have many symptoms from your fibroids? By the way, I have two

children that were adopted at birth (domestically) and can relate to the

infertility/adoption thing. There is light at the end of the

tunnel.......................
