I just said a prayer for john's family. i know his adult kids have nf2 and judging from his posts, they are angry at him for " giving it to them " 1 can understand the anger but i do hope he was exaggerating . I also just read his bio, funny, i never read the bios til someone dies. that is pathetic on my part. But something ive noticed, we all write a common theme. john said he was happy he was affected 'so mildly' compared to others here. i read johnna's bio below his and she basically says the same thing. ive said it man times. ive heard others say it me thinking, no, u arent mild, you are severe, i'm mild! but come one, are any of us really that mild? id bet the general population would consider having one major neuro surgery pretty serious. brutal honesty here. but in a way i see this as good. if we sit around thinking we are washed up surely we will be, so its best to think that we are doing pretty good. I wonder what went wrong! This is very sad news for everyone here and , of course, his family. They need all our prayers. I checked my files and found this letter to the crew from : Hello All my dear friends Many many heartfelt thanks for your messages and prayers, in respect of my forthcoming operation and fitment of the ABI. All emails have been printed and will be pinned above my bed, to show everyone what the crew can do for us, and to publicise nf2. I hope to set a record for the British getting back home following an operation, so that I can be back here among you again. With that, can the Moderator please unsubscribe me as of Tuesday 7th November. If I don't get back before Christmas, I wish you all a very Happy Christmas Handshakes, Hugs to all from johnnf2@... I am not sure if that took place. BBC filmed his ABI implant. The message I got today was....... Marnie, SAT. 25 NOV. 00 1445 GMT I have to tell you the very sad & bitter blow that I have just been informed of minutes ago. I am so sorry to tell you that has had a fit & his heart stopped & they could not get it going again. I ask that inform the crew of this, I will inform you later as to any arrangements so anyone who wants to send tributes can. This message was from 's cousin and his best friend. had asked his wife to keep his cousin informed so that I could report to the crew. (as she does not know how to use a computer) His cousin could never get hold of her for any new news. When I find out more I will post it. He says had a fit, I am wondering if it was a seizure????????? said his heart was fine as they did extensive tests prior to surgery. He was also in very good spirits!!!! I really thought he was on the mend and took the no news for being " good news " . I had 2 prior messages from his cousin saying that he was sorry but could not find out any information for me.
