Thanks Dorothy. I understand that, too. You mentioned that

some people can do some T4 but it depends on what the RT3 is. That is the part

I was trying to clarify. Maybe you mean that is usually okay only if the ratio

is over 20? Is that a correct understanding?

Val goes over this almost every day. You get FT3 and RT3, look at the ratio. It

should be 20 or over. As long as you have the RT3 problem and keep on taking T4

the T4 will keep on converting to Rt3 instead of useful T3. You will keep

building up more RT3 in your cells which blocks the good T3 and you will get

more and more hyper.

That is how it was for me. Some people occasionally apparently seem to do OK

with some T4, but the process has to be slower.

Thanks.

I did consider that. But, it is so hard with the hypo symptoms getting so much

worse in the meantime.

Guess I should wait it out?

Those numbers were at 3.5 grains of Armour. At 2.5 grains I was

getting RT3, but ratio was 12 and RT3 was 26. I have had more problems since

switching to Armour from T4 and trying to get my Frees up. I think it just

pushed too much for my body. I don’t know if my problem is adrenals or the 10

amalgams I have in my mouth or something else, but my body has freaked out from

the high doses of Armour. (Though I have improved moods and less hair loss at

the high doses – so it’s not all bad.) J

Yeah, I am pretty clueless.

What were you doing when you got those numbers?

I went up to 75 Cytomel and it seemed that I got worse without the T4. My T4

had been good on 100 Levoxyl before, but my T3 was way low and RT3 high. Ratio

was okay, though.

Thanks.

I think a ratio of 20 or more means you have enough T3 available to provide the

body what it needs.
