Guest guest
Hi, Marsha Thanks for your email. ly, I wasn't too sure why the doc left that fibroid unremoved - he told me about it soon after I came out from the surgery room when I wasn't totally sober! And at that time, I wasn't as aware of my patient right as I am now. Anyway.. My last ultrasound was done in last June. I have never done any MRI. Should I request my doc to schedule me one? Thanks again! Guest guest
Hi I feel for you I too am having problems with fibroids. I had major surgery back in 91 the removed 5 fibroid tumors the size of grapefruits and also endometriosis. I recovered very well until about 2 years ago. I have had terrible pain and my periods run 20 to 25 days at at time. I have tried the lupron shots and the only gave me horrible migraines, the pill does the same thing. I found a new gyno back in October which has been a real comfort. She did a hystoroscopy, myomectomy and remove partial fibroid in the cervix but there is a larger one in the uterus the size of a gulf ball. I know it will continue to grow and I have a lot of pain from it. The first suggestion was a hysterectomy but after further discussion we decided to hold off and see how the bleeding does. So far I have only had one period it was about 12 days but not bleeding all the time just spotting, I only had about 3 days of bleeding. I am having a lot of problems going to the bathroom but she is treating that as IBS which I am not convinced that is what it is. I did not have this problem until after my surgery in December. I am ready to have the hysterectomy but wanted to have it vaginally but since I have never had kids they can't do it that way. That means a 5-7 inch incision again and trust me when I say it is very painful and takes so long to heal. It is such a long healing process I am very reluctant to have that done at this time. I am going to wait and see how I do for the next few months and then decide. I also work out 4 times a week which I have been doing for some time now. I don't want to stop that but I will if I have this surgery for at least 6-8wks. I have not had the mri done the ultra sound she did showed enough to warrant the surgery in December. Good luck and if you want to talk more please write back. Thanks Libby Re: newcomer Hi, Marsha Thanks for your email. ly, I wasn't too sure why the doc left that fibroid unremoved - he told me about it soon after I came out from the surgery room when I wasn't totally sober! Guest guest
Libby, Have you considered UAE? If that didn't work you could always have a hyster later. --- LIBBY STEPHENSON wrote: > Hi I feel for you I too am having problems with > fibroids. Guest guest
Terri, I am not really sure what UAE is? I have heard a lot of women talking about it. I hate to have anything else done but I do know I will have to if I want to have a life again. Libby RE: newcomer Libby, Have you considered UAE?
