Program Summary:

Internet2 is the foremost U.S. advanced networking consortium. Led

by the research and education community since 1996, Internet2

facilitates the development, deployment and use of revolutionary

Internet technologies by bringing the U.S. research and academic

community together with technology leaders from industry, government

and the international community. Recently, the Government of India

and ERNET, the research and education networking organization of

India, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Internet2 to

facilitate advanced networking collaboration between the U.S. and

Indian research and education communities.

To highlight the inauguration of India's partnership with Internet2,

the World Bank, ERNET, NARI and JHU CCHGE will host an Indo-US

Advanced Networking Program that will provide an enhanced platform

for a unique educational exchange on HIV/AIDS. This program will

link key partner organizations via a high bandwidth network. High

resolution multi-point video conferencing, digital microscopy, 3-D

imaging, as well as other unique e-learning tools will be utilized

during this 2-hour program to demonstrate the capacity and value of

advanced networking that can support international collaborative

health education and research activities.

HIV/AIDS expert faculty from India and the U.S., will conduct this

unique interactive program, which will also be web broadcast live

and accessible for viewing by standard internet connection at

http://codian.oar.net (Conference ID 9087). Participants at the key

partner institutions will have the opportunity to interact via live

video conference with the faculty.
