Guest guest
Our chapter is involved in a contest titled "Turn Over a New Leaf" and we get to turn over a leaf on our tree each week that we weigh in with a loss. Also, each week there is a healthy challenge... the first week it was to drink our water, followed the next week by a requirement of 3 days of exercise. This week's challenge is to PLAN our meals. Okay, I blew this one already yesterday. Although I must say, yesterday was my scheduled "free day", so although I didn't plan ahead what I was going to eat... I did plan to eat whatever I wanted! (Ha! Ha!) Okay, I guess that doesn't count. I always allow myself one "free day" a week. That way, if I'm really craving something, I just tell myself that I'll be able to have it on Wednesday... or whenever I plan to have my free day. It isn't always on Wednesday, the day after weigh-in. Sometimes, if I know that I have some special event on another day of the week, where I may not be "good", then I schedule that as my "free day". Free day usually doesn't mean that I go hog-wild, but after reflecting on my food journal yesterday, I may have done just that. Let me just say that pizza is something that I seldom eat... just a bit too much bread dough for me. Well, yesterday I had a zillion errands to run, to include buying decorations at a party shop in Temple, for a school dance. I ate lunch at Mazzio's and heartily partook (is that a word??) of the salad and pizza buffet. Several hours later, and many errands accomplished, to include a few side trips to antique shops in Temple and Burnet... I'm on my way home, driving through Copperas Cove. Hubby calls wanting to know what's for dinner. I didn't feel like cooking... and I have no cash on me, and seldom do, so that leaves 's or Schlotzsky's (the only fast food restaurants in town that take checks). I ended up picking up some vittles from Schlotzsky's, to include a veggie pizza for me. Okay, it wasn't until last night that I got around to jotting things down in my food journal, and was disheartened to see that I had written the work pizza THREE times---for one day!!! In addition to the veggie pizza last night, I had spinach and combination pizza at Mazzio's as well as CHOCOLATE CHIP PIZZA off of the dessert bar. Gosh, who ever thought of combining chocolate chips into a dessert pizza should be punished! Did I mention that I seldom even eat pizza?? It isn't high on my list of "yummy things I wanna eat" list. Oh well, my free day is behind me for the week, so I'm back on track again. Yippy Skippy, it's almost Friday!
