Guest guest
Jaki Yes, you are stressing over the surgery, but you have that right. I'd be nervous too. Perhaps when the pre-op nurse calls, she will be able to answer any of your questions with more sensitivity. I find nurses kind and supportive. It's too bad about Dr. Sarcastic. Perhaps they just deal with so much of the same, that they forget we often are always first-timers. I often feel more at ease, the more I know about what will happen and what to expect. Perhaps you are in the right place for support. My doctors change in attitude > I have only seen the doctor that is doing my myomectomy twice. He was referred to me by two of my gym friends. Today which makes my second time seeing him was different. He acted as though it was silly of me to be nervous regarding surgery/anesthesia. He walked in with my chart and explained what he was going to do (never looked me in the eyes) while talking. I had a few questions about the anesthesia and he said, you will have to ask the anesthesiologist. Upon completion he gave my chart to the nurse and said, " oh she is very calm " sarcastically. Then I had a smile on my face and said, Oh doc, I have faith in God and you. He then turned around and said, " oh you have faith in God first, then me??? laughed and went on. I don't know if its me being sensitive because its getting closer to my surgery date, but it appeared to me that I had pissed this doctor off because my questions and me going to my old doctor that has been monitoring my abnormal paps since I was 22 years of age. I don't understand why doctors take it personal when new patients don't walk into their offices totally putting their life in their hands. For crying out loud, they are human and there is such a thing of human error. Am I being sensitive and stressing over having this myomectomy or what? > > >
