Birth Control Pills and High Blood Pressure

Well, I just went to see my Gastroenterologist for the first time on

Thursday and when the nurse went to take my blood pressure, it was

high (150/100, high for me who runs normally 120/70 or 120/80). This

is the second time that it was high since being put on birth control

pills to try to control the bleeding.

So on Wednesday, I see a different OBGYN doctor since my regular one

was not available. They took me off the birth control with estrogen

and now are putting me on one with only progesteron. So now we will

see if this does anything for the bleeding. I have decided to require

my doctor to do more testing to see what is up with the fibroid and if

there are others. If she is not going to run any other tests, I am

immediately switching doctors. She has not done anything really to

deal with the fibroid, only two of the symptoms that I have presented

with.

As far as the gastrointestinal problems, I have testing being done by

the gastroenterologist. She is running a whole batch of tests to see

what is causing all of my troubles. She already had me eliminate milk

for two-three days to make sure it was not a lactose intolerance,

which we have determined it is not. So now it is onto the next set of

tests. Will see if the fibroid turns out to be causing all of the

trouble.
