maybe that's exactly it.....you weren't really stressing?? did you get more sleep this week than before?? I'll come clean and tell ya.....yes, I lost 3 pounds this week.....it was a bit of a shock because, even though I ate pretty sensibly....I did still have a couple of good "cheat" days in there - had a big bowl of ice cream with chocolate one day and got carried away with a box of cereal another day. I did exercise at Curves, but I had just started back and only gotten in 2 days of exercise.....but I wasn't under a huge amount of stress last week and I got lots of sleep.....so I know that helps a lot!

The thing that I've found that works best for me is not to stress over what I'm eating, calories or points or whatever.....but to just eat when I'm hungry and stop THE MINUTE I feel comfortably full.....it's not always the easiest thing to do ....especially if something tastes really good! But I've found that if I listen to my body and not my head - it will never let me down on what it wants and how much it needs. (apparently my body was pretty forgiving for the ice cream and the cereal LOL)

This doesn't always work for everyone - some folks need a more rigid diet - some need to count calories - some need to weigh and measure - some need pre-packaged stuff - some need to do the carb thing.....the important thing is to do what works for you and keep it as sensible as possible. cutting too many calories might get ya where you want to go, but it never lasts over the long-term - the "drastic" diets never do.....right? right!!

Lynda Mellin gave me the best advice my very first night I visited my TOPS chapter and that is: "however you lose your weight, is how you will have to keep it off the rest of your life" those words have stuck with me ever since then!

So, I agree.....don't stress too much over your food choices - do try to make good choices, but don't beat yourself up over the not so good ones......I'm looking forward to hearing about another good loss from you next week!

No matter where we live, no matter who we are, we're all bound by borders....borders that define our lives....some real, some imagined. Many of us are content to live within these borders. Others are forced to. But some of us need to break out, burst through, even if what lies on the other side is both frightening and unknown.

I don't know how I did it, but I lost 1.9 pounds this week! When I say I don't know how I did it, I mean that. It is confusing the daylights out of me. I make good food choices and gain weight. I make less than good food choices and I lose weight. I had two pieces of cake and fried foods 3 times this week. I didn't exercise enough to make up for that. And still I lost. I think I'm just not going to stress out over my food choices this week to see what happens.KathleenEMAIL SUPPORT TEXAS-STYLE!!Visit us on the web: http://www.texastops.org

Great loss, Kathleen. Keep it going. Sometimes what we eat doesn't reflect on the scale until later. Watch your portions and increase your exercise this week so the fried food doesn't show up on the scale next week. Good luck.
