Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I went through a similar cervix-related confusion after my first delivery. My right cervix, which is the side I delivered on, also stayed slightly open or as my doctor put it " enlarged " for a long time and I remember my OB/GYN attempting to do a Pap smear 6 months post-delivery and being unable to " find " the other cervix. She explained that the right side was still so much bigger due to the delivery, plus the vaginal septum tear probably changed the lay of the land as well and she just couldn't find the other cervix for the longest time. I remember it well because it was agonizing. Needless to say, she did find it eventually, but I remember difference in size and the slight opening on the right side. I didn't think to ask her if there were any implications from that. I imagine everything got back to normal eventually, but my next PG was on the other side - left uterus and left cervix, so it wasn't really an issue. I also have only had US and HSG as diagnostic methods to get to the UD conclusion and I wouldn't pursue any further testing at this point, as I won't be having any more kids, but I really feel for you to have to face this uncertainty now, when you thought you knew what you were dealing with. I think an MRI may give you the answers you need, but talk to your doctor again about the cervix thing, maybe it's just a case of being more diligent. Wow, it's hard to believe it's been 5 months already, my son is also 5 months and change, it's amazing how time flies. Best of luck to you, I hope everything turns out well. Take care, Lia UD, mom of
