Welcome Kathy -- and you're not moaning! I think it's probably fairly

normal for extended family to not acknowledge there's anything wrong -- they

can't see it and as long as you still look the same they can pretty much

deny (to themselves) that you're sick. I also think it scares them to talk

about it. There isn't much they can do to help anyway! Except you need

someone to vent to sometimes. You can also do that here. There are a few

of us in our 50's in the crew -- I only found out about my nf2 10 years ago,

and consider myself lucky that they didn't show up earlier -- the nasty

little buggers have made up for lost time, tho! One thing about this crud

is that nobody knows for sure the perfect course of action to take! But

there are some of the crew who are marvelous researchers and I learn a lot

just reading the posts!

Dear Lori, Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes I live in the middle of

England about 3omins car ride to where Princess lived and was buried.

I don't know where Toledo is until I look on an atlas. It is nice to feel

a little less of a freak. I think most of my family think I imagined the

condition as part of a mid life crises. No-body ever asks how I am.

Thanks for the welcome and sharing the joke. We are unable to walk upside

down as the rain keeps going up our nostrils, at least we don't have to

Thanks for the welcome handsome Jimmy, so how come people think your a lazy

bum?

I think I should have made a list of all the offensive things family said

like:-

You can't have a real brain tumour.

Well why worry nobody knows what is going to happen to them.

Why don't you go to the doctor and get some pills ( you probably

going thru' the menopause)

If I found out I'd got that I would move so it did not upset my family.

I wish you had not told me.

I would prefer if you did not mention it,as it depresses me you talking

about it.

I'm glad you're better now.

If you were a good mum you would not have told your children, it could upset

them.

What good does worrying about it do - just be happy.

what real difference does it make how long you live, in the wider picture of

things.

You can't possibly have that you must be imagining it.
