Guest guest
Ladies, I so appreciate your help when I told you about my 16 year old daughter and her unusual weight gain and mustache. The healthy ob said that it looked like PCOS. . . low progesterone and high testosterone. She expected to see some type of ratio between LH and FSH that was not found, so she said it acts like PCOS and the other factor may come up later. So, she prescribed bio identical progesterone, Cytomel and spironolact, a testosterone binding medicine. She had no idea why she has gained 37 lbs in 2 years. I've read that there is an insulin resistent problem associated with PCOS. She did a blood spot ZRT test and no insulin problem was found, nor was my daughter in a weight gaining period that is a pound a day, sometimes lasting 15 days. At that time, she starts juice fasting or eating salad only and it doesn't help. If it's an insulin problem, would it behave this way for a few days. . . what else could it be? Has anyone taken spironolact? Is there an herb that would do the same thing? Will progesterone balance the testosterone? Does anyone have PCOS? I went to the healthiest Ob/gyn that I could find. .. we at least got a possible diagnosis that makes sense. Ideas? Marie Dell Mini Netbooks: Great deals starting at $299 after instant savings!
