Hi,

Thanks so much to all of you who responded to my recent questions about

myomectomy. Today I've begun the fun bowel-cleansing process, liquid diet,

and I'm scheduled for myomectomy tomorrow morning.

I'm very nervous, as is expected, but even if it's only a temporary parting,

I can't wait to say " goodbye " to the fibroids. Anyway, based on all the

responses I received, I thought I'd share the final list I compiled of stuff

to take to the hospital (assuming a 1-3 day stay), so here goes:

· Slippers

· Lightweight robe

· Nightshirt

· Phone list (for hubby)

· Advance Directive forms (Living Will and Healthcare Power of Attorney)

· Camelbak bladder (easy to drink water from a tube)

· Oversized underwear

· Lotion

· Chapstick

· Hairbrush

· Toothbrush/paste

· Glasses/contacts

· Socks

· CD Player & soothing CDs

· Sanitary pads

· Moist wipes

· Backscratcher

· Small notebook & pen

· Post-it notes (to stick on chart - if I have questions for doctor/nurse)

· Reading material

· Hard candies/lozenges/lollipops (throat is dry after intubation)

· Disposable camera (for picture of fibroid)

· Gum/mints

· Stuffed animal or pillow (helps to brace the stomach when coughing, etc.)

· Loose-fitting clothes to wear home

I don't wear makeup, but some of you may want that on your list as well.

Maybe this will be a good starting point for others out there.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post a summary of the myo soon. Best of luck to

everyone and thanks to everyone for the different kinds of support you've

given as I've " watched and waited. " Best wishes,
