Guest guest
Hi Vicki, I had chemo but no radiation. But each doctor is different. Who is suggesting the radiation first? Is it your oncologist? I know of a few ladies whos tumors were large and they did radiation first to shrink them. There really is no set rule as which way is right. It all depends on the circumstances. You will be in my prayers. Guest guest
Has anyone had weekly CMF for chemo? I've outright refused Adriamycin because there's no real survival advantage with this over CMF and I don't want to risk the carditoxicity and other problems that Adria causes. I already had chemo 20 yrs ago for colon cancer and know the score here, but would like to hear from anyone who has gotten CMF every week. Boy I am sooo not looking forward to this! ~Amber

Guest guest
Hi Amber, Back in 1990 I got CMF but I got Methotrexate and 5FU the first two tues. of the month then Cytoxan pills the third week and rested the fourth week and started all over for 6 mo. I did just fine. Maybe one of the other ladies has had it weekly and can help. You are in my prayers. Guest guest
Hi : <<I had CMF every three weeks and though I felt sick I did not lose my hair at all>> ==>That's great news! Did your hair get thin on top, and if so, did it grow back? My hair is already thin from chemo 20 yrs ago and never did thicken up again. ~Amber

Guest guest
Andree, I had A/C nearly 5 years ago. I shaved my head before it started to fall out....actually, I had a party and let 8 girlfriends do the honors! My thin straight brown hair came back thicker and curly with a lot of gray in it. The curls only lasted about eighteen months, but the thickness (and the gray) stayed. I decided I like short hair, which I had never had, and have kept it short ever since. No more hot rollers, mousse, or curling irons for me! It takes more than 30 minutes off my morning routine and I can find better ways to spend that kind of time! Sorry you have to go through this, but at least it's summer... I had to wear a hat all winter just to keep from freezing...and I live in Florida!
