Hi Doreen:

So nice to get your e-mail. I will be glad to get home tomorrow, and

glad the hurricane season will be over soon. We sure don't need

them!!!!! We still have some shutters up, and it will be good to take

them off. Much brighter inside!!!!

I hope you are feeling better. Florida weather helps me so much. That

is why we moved here. Where do you live? I am on the s/w Gulf in North

Port. Still in the 90's today. Can't wait for cooler, less humid

weather.

Wishing you pain free days.

Hugs,

Barbara

Hello Debbie:

Nice to hear from you. I am sooooooooo enjoying my time with my

granddaughters. Hard to go home tomorrow. I am feeling very good,

but just tired. I did rest a lot today, and caught up on my e-mails

to our group.

I hope you are feeling good now. Each day brings something to

deal with, so I just take one day at a time.

Have a good weekend, and God Bless you. Wishing you pain free

days.

Hugs,

Barbara

Hi :

Thanks for your e-mail, and it is good to be back here. I am

grateful to have my RA under control now and not having any pain.

This last flare was the worst yet. I will now use my cane all the

time, no matter what.

I hope you are feeling good without any pain. I so enjoy your

e-mails and research items. Good for us to be so informed. Thanks.

Hugs,

Barbara

Hello! Your son sounds similar to mine, although we didn't get the AS diagnosis until 11. He just turned 14 today. Amazing what the last 14 years have brought us, both the good and the bad. The good outweighs the bad, which I can safely say now. It wasn't always like that when he was younger. My name is and I have a 13 year old son who was diagnosed with AS when he was 6. For the past 7 years after knowing what was going on with him it has been a lot easier going through obstacles. He is in his third year of middle school and is doing well. He is in an IEP program and in the advance classes as well. He has social skills issues but academics come easily for him. I am so blessed to have him in my life and that he has taught me so much about myself and that it is ok to be different from the usual mold. His OCDs used to drive me crazy when he was younger. He had multiple issues but as he has matured they have calmed down some and are not so aggressive. We also have a neighbor who's son who has AS and goes to the same school and they have seem to have become good friends and understand each other well. It is so nice when they can have peers that are just like them.

You are quite blessed and so is your son. Best wishes. It is so good to hear good news once in a while!
