Guest guest
I am a 29 year old male. I was diagnosed with NF2 back in May of 1990. I have been married for 2 years, and I currently work as a Network Administrator/Computer Programmer for the State of Georgia. I really don't know how detailed to be in this bio, so I will just briefly describe some of my NF2 symtoms. I lost my hearing in the left ear after surgery to remove an acoustic neuroma in October 1990. I have just recently started losing my hearing in the right ear. I also have left side facial paralysis and some pretty severe problems with my voice. I really look forward to participating with the NF2 Crew. I have found it very easy to find information on almost all aspects of acoustic neuromas, but it has been more difficult to get information on the other aspects of NF2. I am sure I am not the only one having problems with other issues. As my condition begins to change, I find myself in need of more support from people who know what it is like. I also hope I can be of support to others. I look forward to meeting everyone. If anyone wants more information about me please don't hesitate to ask. Sincerely, Blansit _____NetZero Free Internet Access and Email______ http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html

Guest guest
Welcome to the Crew, Chris. My daughter is 27 and has NF2 with multiple tumors that are very active. You mentioned problems with your voice. I share with you that Anne has her right vocal cords paralyzed from a throat tumor removal in '88. A couple years ago she had 6 removed from her neck and throat and the ENT said he could try an injection to strengthen or stimulate the vocal cords. It effect supposedly last 6 months. But Anne would not let him look at her throat. I don't know if this applies to your situation. You should get lots of wonderful support and encouragement and hard core reality on this Crew. We are happy that you joined. Vicki
